The report systematically discusses and puts forward nine technical directions that should be focused on during the 13th five-year Plan period: smart grid technology; new generation energy system technology; global energy Internet technology; efficient and clean thermal power generation technology; renewable energy power generation and utilization technology; hydropower technology; advanced nuclear power generation technology; system energy efficiency improvement technology and basic and forward-looking technology research. On this basis, it also summarizes 20 key technologies of power science and technology in the 13th five-year Plan, including micro-gas turbine cooling, heating and power generation technology and equipment, 1000MW high-performance and large-capacity hydropower unit technology, safe and stable operation and control technology of super-large power grid, and so on.

In addition, the "Power and Electrical Engineering Discipline Development Report (2015)" was also released at the meeting, summarizing the discipline progress during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period and analyzing the development trend of power technology during the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan.

Zheng Baosen, President of the Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering, pointed out in his opening speech that improving the clean and efficient use of fossil energy, increasing the proportion of renewable energy and new energy power generation, improving the capacity, efficiency and safety of power grid transmission, increasing the proportion of electricity in terminal consumption, and realizing the green, low-carbon, open and intelligent development of electricity and energy ...... will become the key direction of future power technology innovation.

The conference was hosted by the China Society of Electrical Engineering, and co-organized by 10 units including State Grid Central China Branch, State Grid Hubei Electric Power Company, and Lenovo Group. More than 1100 industry experts participated.
