The energy field is the cornerstone of the country's economic and social development. The BRICS countries are all emerging developing countries. The total renewable energy of the BRICS countries accounts for 40% of the world's total, of which my country's renewable energy accounts for 2/3 of the total of the BRICS countries, and the proportion is still growing.
At the same time, countries are also actively strengthening cooperation in renewable energy technology. Take China as an example, so far, China has made more than 124 investments in solar and wind power in 33 countries. Recently, China's two major nuclear power groups, CNNC and CGN, have recently disclosed news that the nuclear power industry, as a "national business card", has made new progress in overseas expansion, among which CNNC is expected to participate in Brazilian nuclear power projects.
As the new development bank, which undertakes the mutual settlement and loan business between BRICs countries, also said that the main focus of investment has always been sustainable development projects and infrastructure construction, which also provides a great support for the development and cooperation of renewable energy in various countries. EnergyStrategic complementary cooperation will further promote
Among the BRICS countries, China, India and South Africa are major energy importers, while Russia and Brazil are major exporters, and they are highly complementary to each other in the development of regular, unconventional resources and renewable energy.
As we can see from the figure, China and India account for 18.1 per cent and 27.9 per cent of the total energy consumption structure, while the corresponding proportion of domestic oil production accounts for only 8.5 per cent and 10.2 per cent of the energy production structure. In contrast, Russia's oil accounts for 21.4 per cent of its consumption structure, but its production accounts for 40.8 per cent, and the three countries have a lot of room for complementarity and cooperation in the production and consumption of oil and energy.
Take the oil trade between China and Russia as an example
Russia's oil and gas pipeline network is quite developed, with a total length of more than 220000 kilometers and an annual transportation capacity of more than 60 million cubic meters. However, at present, Russia mainly supplies the European market. As a neighboring country sharing a 4300-kilometer border with Russia, there is only one crude oil pipeline to the east. At present, the natural gas pipeline leading to the eastern route of Sino-Russian natural gas is still under construction.
